Prof. Etta Hannah Edim

Hannah Edim Etta is a Professor of Animal Genetics and Biotechnology in the Animal and Environmental Biology Department of Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Cross River State, Calabar. She is also a seasoned educator with a PGD in
Educational Administration and Guidance and Counselling. She has a Higher
Education teaching career that spans over
18 years. She has a B.Sc. in Biology
(Honours), M.Sc. in Animal Genetics and PhD in Genetics and Biotechnology all from the University of Calabar, Calabar. Apart from being a seasoned biologist, Prof. Hannah is an astute administrator with sterling leadership skills in higher education administration. She has published over 50 scientific articles of her research findings in both local and international journals and about 5 book chapters with collaborators around the world. She is a beneficiary of the CRUTECH 2020 TETfund manuscript publication grant and she's still publishing. She is 2time beneficiary of the TETfund IBR research grant and has also benefitted from several other grants like the Bill and Melinda Gates travel grant, Cross River University of Technology Post Graduate research grant and the Cross River State Government Post Graduate grant. Prof Etta is passionate about teaching, mentoring and advocacy. She is the immediate past National Coordinator of SOFADONDO and the state Coordinator of DFWA. She is a member of many reputable learned societies including Genetic Society of Nigeria (GSN), Genetic Society of America
(GSA), Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN)(Current Coordinator of the SS zone) and a fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development (IMPD).
She is the current Director of Academic Planning, University of Cross River State, Calabar.
Prof. Etta is a God-fearing Woman of God that believes in serving humanity. She is a Jesus lover and has been for most of her life; a relationship she cherishes and won't give up for anything in the world.
