Engr. Dr. Anderson Etika is the immediate past Head of the Department and an Associate Professor in Highway & Transportation Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Cross River State, Calabar. He holds a Ph.D. in Transportation Studies from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, an MSc in Transportation Planning and Engineering from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and a BEng in Civil Engineering from the Cross River University of Technology, Calabar, Nigeria.
Dr. Etika is also a visiting Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Calabar and Currently on Sabbatical leave at the Akwa Ibom State University. He chairs the Highway and Transportation Research Group (HTRG) at UNICROSS and serves as a faculty representative in the Career Service Center.
His research interests include road transportation safety and highway construction materials, and he has over 25 academic publications and presentations. Dr. Etika has been involved in several engineering projects, including the World Bank-funded Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) and the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
Engr. Dr. Etika is recognized as a hands-on practical engineer and an extensive researcher. He is a certified engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and is registered with the Nigerian Society of Engineers
