As part of an ongoing initiative to build strategic partnerships with key government agencies, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Prof. Francisca Bassey, yesterday, August 3, 3, 2026 paid a courtesy visit to the Cross River State Surveyor General, Surv. Patrick Edet Bassey at his office in Calabar.
The meeting focused on strengthening institutional collaboration in critical areas, including academic excellence, physical campus development, land administration, and sustainable infrastructure planning.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice Chancellor underscored the vital role surveying plays in modern infrastructure development, urban planning, environmental sustainability, and accurate geospatial data collection. She stated that as UNICROSS expands its physical infrastructure and continues training professionals in related fields, close cooperation with the Office of the Surveyor General remains essential to maintaining best practices in spatial development.

The Vice Chancellor and her delegation were warmly received by the Surveyor General and senior members of his management team. Both parties expressed enthusiasm for deeper engagement, with the Surveyor General's team promising a reciprocal return visit to the UNICROSS campus today August 4, 2026, to further solidify partnership frameworks.

The UNICROSS delegation emphasized that a robust partnership between the state’s flagship institution and the surveying authority will drive both educational growth and broader infrastructural development across Cross River State.
