The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Professor Francisca Bassey, has led a delegation of University Management and representatives of SKYRUN International on an inspection tour of facilities earmarked for the implementation of the University’s academic partnership with Zhejiang College, China.
The inspection, which underscores Professor Bassey’s commitment to translating strategic partnerships into tangible academic opportunities for the University, focused on assessing the readiness of designated classrooms and office spaces ahead of their renovation, furnishing and equipping for the commencement of the programme.

The inspection builds on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between UNICROSS and Zhejiang College, China, in October 2025, through the facilitation of SKYRUN International. The agreement is aimed at strengthening international academic collaboration and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and enhanced educational development.
Professor Bassey personally led the inspection, accompanied by members of the University Management, including the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Hannah Etta.

Speaking on the purpose of the inspection, the Director of Academic Planning explained that the visiting partners were at the University to assess the proposed facilities for the collaboration and determine the level of preparation required ahead of the commencement of the programme.
She noted that the designated building, which will accommodate classrooms and offices, is expected to undergo significant upgrades, including the installation of modern ICT facilities, interactive boards, furniture and other essential infrastructure designed to meet international standards.

The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Dennis Ogidi, Assistant General Manager of SKYRUN International, alongside team members including Mr. Lie Yang Tao.
Mr. Ogidi explained that the inspection was undertaken to assess the readiness of the University and identify the facilities requiring renovation and upgrading. He disclosed that SKYRUN International would support the provision of modern equipment and other facilities, including interactive boards and other ICT infrastructure, to facilitate the smooth commencement of the programme.

The inspection team subsequently toured the designated classrooms and office spaces, assessing the existing facilities and identifying areas requiring attention to bring them up to the desired standard.
The development further reflects Professor Francisca Bassey’s strategic leadership and commitment to expanding UNICROSS’s international partnerships, strengthening the University’s global outlook and creating an enabling environment for the successful implementation of initiatives that will enhance teaching, learning and academic collaboration.

With the ongoing preparations, the University is poised to advance the implementation of the MoU and deepen its academic relationship with Zhejiang College, China, through the support and facilitation of SKYRUN International.
