Blessing Ernest Bassey ( Blessy Bassy) is a painter, a graphics Designer, and a print maker, currently working as a lecturer within the Department of Visual Arts at UNICROSS.
She is a scholar as well as an experimental artist who uses colours as a Visual metaphor to tell stories and interpret visual images.
Blessy Bassy is an indigene of Bahomono in Abi LGA of Cross River State. She attended PCN primary school Ishie town Calabar from 1998 -2003, her secondary school education was in Model Secondary School, Ikot Ansa Calabar/ De-Fourtune Academy from 2003-2009/2012 where she obtained her SSCE Certificate, in 2016 she obtained a Bachelor degree in Arts (B.A) and a Master Degree in Fine Arts (MFA) in 2021, in the Department of Visual Arts, at the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH). Since 2015, Blessy Bassy has been featured in numerous media arts interview and has actively participated in group exhibitions like "Art Incubator", "A Patch of Clouds" Traces of Time, among others. She has attainted several workshops and conferences, one among others is the 26th Harmattan Workshop at Agbarha-Ator, Delta state, She is a member of the Society of Nigerian Artist(Calabar Chapter). Her research focus is using Arts as a tool of social change.
